The way this will work in games is that for certain puzzles n stuff, you will require a certain amount of light or darkness. i.e. if you had to sneak through an area, you would need to be in a dark room.
The one flaw with this idea is that people will just cover the sensor with their hand when they need darkness. But still, it's a decent new idea!

But what about for people with Afterburners?
How would they cover-up the light from that without ripping-apart their GBA's and further-damaging the warranty??
GBA and the dark don't work very well together!
