Hideo Kojima, best known for creating Metal Gear Solid, is creating a GBA game with a light sensor built into the cart.

The way this will work in games is that for certain puzzles n stuff, you will require a certain amount of light or darkness. i.e. if you had to sneak through an area, you would need to be in a dark room.

The one flaw with this idea is that people will just cover the sensor with their hand when they need darkness. But still, it's a decent new idea!

If they turned it into a TV remote control that also plays games then i'd get one.

It would have to beep though, so I could find it when it goes down the side of the sofa.

It doesn't add to much to the gameplay either, I guess it is them people in japan always trying to think of something to revolutionise gaming...

It's a stupid gimic really.

What's next heat sensors in games so you have to play certain parts of the game in the extreme cold. That'll be the next game releated death, some mad Japanease man will lock himself inside a fridge with his Gameboy Advance and freeze to death.

A human, GBA playing popsickle.

I remember someone talking about using LDR (Light dependant resistors, a.k.a light sensors) a while back on the triton labs froums, about the afterburner (Light inside GBA) We were discussing all of the problems that LDR's would create for both the light and the games that would use this type of senso, and there were some valid points. I'll look tomorrow and fish it out, had some interesting ideas though.

apparently it only works with natural light, so you can just use a lamp to play.

alternativly, this means you cant cheat the light puzzles with torches.
