Hello. I am Johan Snow. The German equivalent of John Snow. Today, we are going to look at ze Notable Election of November 2002, on ze British website, Special-Reserve.co.uk.
So, on with the show. Firstly we shall be looking a the previous political situation of the ruling parties, and then the election campaigns, and then the results. So, what was the situation before the new election began?
THE SITUATION:
Well, the UkDiscussions government was largely in the sway of a select few Notables. Politicians such as Meka Dragon, SHEEPY, and Goatboy ruled with ironfists, while others, such as FantasyMeister, WookieMonster, and Er-no, let things continue as they had for the past three months. Others, such as the radical new kid, Edgy, wanted to radicly change the system to a dedicated Nintendo worshipping site. Un/Fortunatly, this never occured, meaning that the system stayed largely the way it had, and so the way was wide open for a new, radical NP (Notable Politician) to assert their power over the minions - er, people.
THE CAMPAIGNS:
There were many, many possible NPs going into this election. However, we shall focus on a few of the more dominant politicians involved. Namely Afro Joe, Mystique, Microchips and Savat78.
AFROJOE:
A well established member of the Regular class of society, he began his election campagin by er, 'selecting' members of the current Pariliament, (a perfectly legal exercise, of course) and so automaticly gained respect by his ruthless, no holds barred form of policies. Added to this already potent mix, he embarked on a campaign, promising to save us from the threats of the evil 'Chelumbas'. Thousands of scared (or rather 11) people flocked to him. He also promised to relinquish control of the Afro-Lice, for the good of the people - therefore, he already had a strong bodyguard, to er, 'encourage' support for him. The ScalyShirts, they were named.
MYSTIQUE:
A very well respected member of the 'Upper Classes' of the SR net, Mystique campaigned using policies of Freedom, Equality, and most of all free speech. However, Mystique was opposed especialy by the very anti-liberal PNP (Potential Notable Politician), El Blokey, whom she managed to dispatch with several victories, on specialy chosen debates, most notably on Feminism. Mystique therefore gained huge amounts of support for her liberal policies, and also her liberal annihalation of anybody that 'annoyed her grace'.
MICROCHPS:
Microchips campaign was based around giving free Chips to as many people as possible. His Chippy Van, the campaign mobile, was filled with sweaty teenagers preparing food for the next city of potential supporters. However, apart from his very food orientated policies, he also promised to promote the use of humour as a weapon - opposed by some, but loved by many. His Enemy At The Microwave speeches were particularly stirring - some reminded of Churchill, others of Er-Nos dramatic speeches of 'er.no, no, no, no, no, no. Yes!' Brilliance, but his liberal food distribution, coupled with 'dangerous' humour, alienated a large majority of potential voters.
SAVAT78:
Leader of a radical and dark goup, Savat78 seemes prepared to use any method neccessary to win power. His huge dark van, adorned with large Xs on the side was a common sight accross the .net, and his dark policies of destroying all Nintendo related objects was considered a dangerous policy, but many flocked to his banner. Despite this, he was hostile to many potential voters, and even unknown to several. However, he campagined well, his loyal supporters, in a similar way to AJs, 'encouraging' vottes. By the end, he had many supporters 'under his belt' and was ready to seize power. Then, un/fortunatly, he broke his XBox, and so fell away, as grief overcame him. This leaves a great 'what if?' in history - He was near power, but then he failed in his bid. What if?
