It's new mobile contract time, and I'm looking for a new phone to replace my Samsung a300. I come across the a400, which is the same but without the outside screen, and includes 8 games.

It was all looking good until I read this about it on the actual Samsung website:

"As it caters to women, this phone is equipped with female-specific functions, such as Pink Schedule & Calorie calculation."

Pink schedule?

I can't lose weight for love or money.

If I lift my arm over my head, I put on two pounds of muscle. I'm swiftly approaching 14 and a half stone, and I started exercising to LOSE weight.

And while there are some biological arguments supporting the idea that women have a harder time losing weight, personally I think the problem lies in that women try to lose weight in the wrong ways.

Teenagers regularly try to starve their way to a better shape. This is the most ridiculous thing to do, since it sends your metabolics plummeting, so next time you have a slice of bread and a cup-a-soup, you'll put on a stone.

After that, you'll have to "diet" for the rst of your life, because your metabolic system is screwed.

Like I said earlier, women lack reason.

But you aren't completely right about the metabolism. If you follow a healthy diet rather than a 'fad-diet or a starvation diet, then metabolic slowing shoule be minimal. However with exercise the effects are going to be greatly enhanced

Thats why I Love my dance mat :D

You will hear absolutely no argument from me there. Heatly (low-fat, low calorie) diet and exercise is the best diet.

Its still easier for men to lose weight though.

Even the most well constructed diets have little impact on weightloss. Fact.

The only effective way to lose weight is to eat healthily and exercise regularly.

Without regular cardiovascular exercise, any diet will merely effect your metabolic rate, and render any nutritional changes completely meaningless.

Most "wonder-diets" are actually incredibly bad for you.

This is true. I eat like a horse an simply cannot put any weight on. High metabollic rate apparantly.

Pain in the @rse, I just hover around 12 stone.

I would have thought dieting would be a lot harder for women than men because of the pressure.

women look at men and think "he's funny, rich, gsoh, blah blah blah", and approach them. men go "she's fit" and approach them. if a bloke is a bit chubby, a woman can still go for them, but not as much the other way around. Argue me if you like about your own personal curcumstance, but it's a true generalisation.

theres a lot more at steak for women to look good, and men are so picky nowadays.

A woman's idea of a diet seems to be eating *just* one bar of chocolate a day. Then they eat a bowl of profiterols and claim that *its different*

The other major trend is that YOU often get blamed for it.

Then they eat more chocolate.
