Although when the Dreamcast first came out it did make such a big profit as expected, it will rake in the cash this Christamas.

Parents around the world find it hard to get christmas presents so choose the easy way out by getting a console or games. And the only good new console out is the Dreamcast. I overheard a conversation in a shop about this guy saying they were running LOW on syock of Dreamcasts. They have an offer on for 3 games and a Dreamcast for about £150, which is an ideal pressie, and I also know someone who is getting one for Christams.

This is where SONY have messed up big time, they only realease some pre-orderes Ps2's for Christmas, so Sega get the christamas cash. Which makes people annoyed at sony for waiting forone they give up, and get a dreamcast this year and next year the Nintendo Gamecube.

I would only get a PS2 if I had more money than sense, yes.

But as far as I'm concerned, I would still buy a Gamecube before it. If they were released at the same time of course, which is the only thing that you can diss it about.

You'd think.
But sony and N64 was much cheaper. so ppl who couldn't get the dearer one will go for the cheaper ones. Kinda like this year with the DC's and PS2 but ppl will have to wait for the PS2 if they want one..

Surely the Dreamcast was the best console last year, or was it my imagination...

I can remember last Christmas the N64 was the biggest selling console followed by the playstation and the Dreamcast was somewhere behind, if they do well this year then fair play to them, but next christmas might be a complete different kettle of fish because the PS2 will be widely available and with no competition from the Gamecube that won't be released next year, it makes it hard to see how the dreamcast will outsell the PS2 next christmas. This could be the only good year for the dreamcast because chances are it will have vanished like the Saturn.

How *not* to grab the wrong end of the stick (the one covered in the doggy-doo)...

As you look at the stick, remember that the right end is the right end; therefore the left end is the wrong end. However, depending on the angle at which you approach the stick, this situation may be reversed.

Approaching the stick from the wrong side will (obviously) result in the right end being the wrong end and the left end being the right end.

In this situation, the only way to tell the difference is to get on your hands and knees and sniff each end. Before doing so, you should perform a careful check of your surroundings, as the dog that did the doo may still be around. If so, you really do not want to be on all fours, as the dog that did the doo may return and attempt to mount you.

If you are unfortunate enough to find yourself in this situation, forget the doggy doo, grab the stick by either end, and swing it back over your head as violently as you can, in an attempt smack the dog over the head with it.

Under no circumstances try to remove yourself from under the dog before you have beaten it unconscious, as doing so is likely to enrage the animal. Moving forwards in an attempt to escape is likely to result in either canine toothmarks in either buttock, or, more likely, a vice-like grip by the dog on your groin area. In either case, your only option will be to seek medical advice immediately.

Err... not quite what I meant, but I suppose it could be taken that way!

(By the way... never grab the wrong end of the stick, it might have doggy-doo on it.)

*reads post*

*grabs wrong end of stick*

So you think that the kids with the Dreamcast will be miserable this Xmas do you? Well I can tell you this, it's better than sitting around twiddling your thumbs waiting for Sony to bung a few components together, and get them into the country.

Your obviously another Sony zealot, brainwashed by their evil marketing men.

For about the first 2 weeks! I have a Rio 500, and it's been unused for ages. It eats batteries like no-one's business, too.

I don't see how you can think Sony have made a mistake, though. They're having trouble keeping up with the demand because the can't manufacture them quick enough.

You can't seriously think that they would *choose* not do drop half a million PS2's into the UK for Xmas if they could do it?!

You're right, though - it probably will help Dreamcast sales this Xmas, unless the kids are adamant that they want a PS2. £300 is a lot of cash, but two things can happen...

1. Parents think "well, I can get a DC now for half the price". Those people probably will do just that.

2. The kids insist on a PS2. It may be more money, but then the parents have another month or two to drum up the extra cash.

Whatever happens, there will be some very happy kids this Xmas, and some very miserable ones!
