Every election, the same thing happens. A member of staff makes an official voting thread detailing the rules - who can and can't vote, who can or can't be voted for, and a simple declaration that only votes are to be posted in the topic - no chat or anything else.

Like this time:

"There's a few rules we need to clear up too, to avoid any trouble like the last few elections.

ONLY REGULARS/NOTABLES/STAFF ARE ALLOWED TO VOTE (No Newbies or JATs)
NO OTHER POSTS ARE TO BE MADE IN THIS TOPIC"

Yet still we have JATs and Newbies "voting", and idle chat in the official thread.

As I write this, the unofficial count of votes totals 78 - yet there are 91 posts in the official voting thread. Obviously we can take one off of that because of Snuggly's initial post creating the thread, but that still means that there are 12 posts which shouldn't be there.

So I ask...

Can people not read, or are they just stupid?

And while we're being stern, we're not looking to vote in any 'forum representatives' here, we don't want a Nintendo forum Notable or a Sony forum Notable - you're voting for who you want to represent UKchatforums.com as a whole.

Did you see what Knick Knack done? He changed his name trying to fool Snuggly and voted for himself twice. Meh. I noticed the idiots chatting in the thread. Damn them.
