I've also been looking at the Memory Stick models, the NWMS11 and NWMS9, but I have a question for anyone who can help...
Both of these items state that they use the MagicGate Memory Sticks. Apart from being different in colour (grey as opposed to blue), these are different from, and far more expensive than, the normal Memory Sticks.
If you own one of these models, do you know if they will also function with the normal blue Memory Sticks?
I have a number of normal sticks (1 x 4MB, 1 x 8MB, 2 x 64MB and 1 x 128MB) which I use with my DSC and camcorder, and new 128MB sticks are around the £80 mark - which isn't too bad, considering what they once were. But the 128MB MagicGate sticks are still around £150!
If the NWMS models will accept standard sticks, I might seriously consider getting one - otherwise, I'll get the MZ-N1 MD player, and make do with cheaper media and a longer battery life!
Thanks for any help.
I'm a bit broke at the moment though.
I'll see how my bets go this weekend :)
I'll definitely have one by mid january though. I'm gonna do loads of overtime over christmas so i'll get a big phat pay day in january!
I've had a chance to really play around with it now, and it's fantastic. I was a little concerned, because I'd been reading a number of horror stories about the software that comes with it - OpenMG - with (supposedly) all sorts of crashing problems and difficulty recording.
All I can assume is that they were referring to an earlier version of the software - mine came with version 2.2, and I've had no problems. Easy to use, rips CDs quickly and copies them over quickly.
I'm well happy with it!
Ssssssssexy!
I might get one when i get paid next. Did you get the silver or the blue one?
Though I eventually ordered from http://www.be-direct.co.uk at £199 with free delivery, because they're in the ipoints scheme.

www.askdirect.co.uk ? :)

No, because they have none in stock. :-) A shame, though, because they were also giving 5 free MD's with it. :-(
I also found a place doing it for £194 including free delivery. :-)
