I think anyone prepared to take a Dremmel to their case is unlikely to *have* a warranty - they'll have built their own system. And are Dell really going to accept that sort of thing?
"Look the warranty sticker isn't broken!"
"Yes, but you drilled a bloody great hole in the side of the case."
"Can you fix it anyway?"
"What's wrong with it?"
"I cut the modem in half."

Don't do this.
If you do, just put the discs and stuff in the hole you made. Games will load quicker this way.
Or just unscrew your case, whatever floats your boat.

I would like to try water cooling, though, because I like my PC nice and quiet. But it's a no go at the moment because I have a cat and, having seen what it did to last year's Christmas tree, I'm not prepared to take the risk. Dyed water I do like the sound of - maybe I'll do something with the plumbing.
'My mum.. was..umm.. smoking and her cigarette fell on the case'
'Sir, the case is actually fire-proof'
'Believe me, that's what happened!'
'So why did you bring this computer to us today sir?'
'I have a problem, and my warranty is still valid'
'Sorry Sir, it isn't'
'But the sticker isn't broken!'
'Sir, the sticker tells us if the computer casing has been removed. Our guarantee does not cover cases which have had holes cut into them'

You know, there are perfectly viable silent solutions for air that very good cooling (compared to what you usually get with air). Lots more satisfaction than boring water as well.
We should chat.
You'd need power tools though. Don't worry, they're your friend!
