Firstly, some annoying STAR TREK points:
1) Neelix from VOYAGER
2) The Federation always wins in the end
3) When an episode tries to be "funny".
4) The Borg no longer seem to pose any trouble, especially to Janeway in VOYAGER.
5) Just how many temporal anomolies or transporter accidents the writers seem to use when stuck for a story
(I`m a big Sci-fi fan and like both Star Trek and Star Wars, but even fans can only put up with so much...)
and also means the story will never be properly finished!.
STAR TREK also has tons of ropey episodes to pick from, but as for DS9 or Voyager being boring? have you seen any of the DS9 Dominion War episodes (A Sacrifice of Angels, What we leave behind etc) or some of the Voyager 2 parters like A YEAR OF HELL or DARK FRONTIER?????
Everyone i speak to says how great STAR WARS is, but it only all started in 1977 - TREK already had a headstart on it, plus we also have ten films (the latest due in 2002) compared to 4, soon to be 5, of the STAR WARS saga.
Sorry - but both have equal status with me as both licences have good and bad points.
I like Star Trek, I watch The Original Series and The next Generation, but I find Deep Space Nine and Voyager can sometimes be a bit boring. Although Seven of Nine is a very good reason to watch Voyager!!
Star Wars is the better no question!!! Everything about it is brilliant and the characters, worlds, vehicles, weapons are just great.
Except Jar-Jar Binks.
