When i got Windows XP laptop soo happy i quickly unpacked it and started it on then as it loaded up i entered all my information and started using my laptop. then i went on the net and downloaded some clips than as i played them the whole scrren started to go white and it went fully white on the whole screen and then it carshed and it was the fault of the crap procceser i was soo unhappy when it colud not play clips or movies any more XP is soo crap

You dont get the installation CD with PCs/Laptops so formatting isn't a good idea, send it back as your guarantee is still valid, get them to sort your problems.

XP has a function which is class for fixing problems before they cause damage, I think it's called 'Rollback' you can probably download it for other Operating Systems, basically, if somethings about to crash your PC, it stops running that programs or operation and lets you start again with out reseting or loosing any unsaved info..lovely.

So in other words, it sounds like a technical fault as XP should be able to sort more software problems out.

hmmmm did u try formatting it at all i find its alot better formatting it then isntalling xp.

What spec is it?, and what codec were the downloaded clips?, also i have seen picture problems like that on laptops try assigning more memory to the graphics via the bios.

Erm, I can play clips and movies fine on my copy of XP. Try the windows update and see if there are any patches or something.

Methinks you bought a crap PC.
