They moan when taxes go up to help public services
They moan when they have low taxes but have crap public services
Labour lost the '92 election because the Tories whinged to 'The Sun' reading morons that they'd put up taxes... however Old Labour would do this to aid the country... but no the Tories won. Creating New Labour and now all parties are neither left nor right wing, just want to stay in power.
Or something like that.

Well, it'll be really REALLY hard for you to get a mortgage, or any kind of loan.
They sell of your posessions to make back what money they can - which means I'd lose stuff like my telly, CD's, PC, Xbox, bike etc.
It doesn't look good when you go for a job - and most jobs ask you on the application form.

So do prostitutes. Should we consider making it legal, and let them up their prices? :-)

Although it's true you can't increase the rate of repayment, I'm fairly sure you can make extra one-off payments at any time. So technically, he should be able to pay it back if he wanted. In any case, his wages will go up sooner or later, pushing his repayments up.
Another alternative is to declare yourself bankrupt... upon leaving university you have few or no assets, and at least £12,000 in debts. You could go for bankrupcy and clear your loan that way. However, there are numerous disadvantages to having been declared bankrupt...

I don't know why but that makes me laugh

I got a little carried away. I can see the folly in the idea.
I think the "sneaky tax" is national insurance. You pay your tax and then you pay about half that amount again in national insurance.
For what? NHS, bah humbug.
Meaning you put in and you get out or something
*sore head*
