I pre ordered mine but have decided got to waste another £280 to pick it up. I played it at a freinds house and to say i was disappointeed was an understatement. The games may look nice ( although they dont look as good as most dreamcast games, Dead or Alive 2 for example which looks better on the DC) but there is no depth or real playability to them. This was a massive fault with the PSone, which only had 4 or 5 games worth buying unless you like buying pointless niche games or enless FIFA or Tomb Raider games that are all exactly the same. I know that launch titles are never very good normally ( N64 being the only real exception)but now games companies are beginning to leave as well. For example, metal gear solid will now be on the X-Box and there are rumours of a Game Cube version as well. Highly anticipated games like Munch's Odessy will now not be on the system at all. Developers all around the world have complained about how hard it is to programme for.
He said that he NEARLY parted with £280, but didn't after playing someone elses.
WHY CAN'T YOU JUST ACCEPT SOME PEOPLE DON'T LIKE THE CONSOLE?!?
Sorry, my madness strives today.
"Im sure i will get one eventually, but now way is it worth twice as much as the DC, not in a million years"
I'm surprised Wookie (aka Babylonian) didn't pick up on this.
Argueing over which is the best console is a little pointless now as that arguement has been covered. Just let the sales speak for themselves.
By the way any PS2 owners beware of what remote DVD controller you use because some dont work properly.
I know it's hard to believe, but it does happen...
: )
MGS will appear on X-Box, but it is doubtful that it will be a version of MGS2, though no-one but Kojima really knows at this point in time.
Anyway, as I said... if you're not that impressed with it and want to keep your DC, that's fine. As I've always said, it's personal choice, and you should stick with the machine that gives you the games you want to play.
I was genuinely looking foward to the PS2. I lanned to sell my dreamcast to get it, but have decided not to now. Im sure i will get one eventually, but now way is it worth twice as much as the DC, not in a million years.
I am disappointed with the DVD aspect, but as I have a player, I'm not crying myself to sleep at night.
As for the games - it's actually better than I was expecting, so...
1. Fair enough, if you don't want it, don't get it. it's your choice, and if you're not convinced, you're better off spending your money on another machine.
2. It seems like a thinly disguised attack on PS2, with some "I was gonna get one" comments thrown in to try and sound genuine.
I know what my choice is. Anyone else?
