Yes the only good team on Merseyside is Everton all the way!!!1
Cups require win after win after win. Mistakes knock you out, unless you play for Newcastle, in which case Juventus will try their best to get you through to the next round.
Or skill.

But then again, a domestic league win proves greater consistency. Any competition with a knock-out stage only requires one bit of bad - or good - luck.
Barcelona currently lie eighth in the Primera Liga, yet racked up maximum points in the first phase of the Champions League. They had a favourable draw perhaps, but even so it's no easy achievement. Real Sociedad may be eight points ahead of them domestically, but who would you fear playing most?
To an extent it's true that in your home country there is a certain 'style' of football being played. Master that, and you can win your league. To conquer Europe though, you need to be able to outdo every style of play you come up against. That's a real test. Often you simply won't win if you play in the same way as you do in your own league.
The fact that Liverpool are out of the Champions League to me suggests their team fundamentally lacks something which teams like United and Arsenal have.

Obviously the Premiership has great value, especially given that the majority of the season is built around playing in it.
> The Premiership is the mickey mouse league. Europe is where it's at...
What, so now ManYoo aren't doing so well in the Prem, it's worth nothing? I bet that changes next time you win it. After all, without the Prem, there is no Europe...
Is it this season that Champ's only get into the CL?
