But I still say you can never be entirely sure. This isn't a "I DON'T TRUST YOU!" thing, seriously! It's just leaving this small margin that you don't trust yourself. You bring that word into play, then yes, use it wisely! But that doesn't change the structure of the sentence, and saying you think you love someone isn't the same as saying that you definitely do, this is separate.
The problem with saying 'think' is it's not as analogue as you'd hope. Yes or no, that's digital, on, off. I do, I don't. With think, you turn off these stupid absolutes and try thinking in degrees instead, and start trying to pick apart the pieces to build up a bigger picture.
But that's the thing - if you trust someone to say "I think I love you", then of what degree are they saying it? Are they saying "Well, I was sitting on the toilet the other day and I thought, hey I think I love you, dunno why I thought it" or "I've been thinking everything over, looking at all that you are, everything that makes me happy and all the stuff that worries me isn't so important now because I trust you an awful lot, it's your life and I find you amazing. You never have to be involved with me, there's no need to commit to me, there's no need to even talk to me, or ever do something for me. All you have to do is exist, and that alone makes me happy, and based on that, I think I love you."
Context. I find saying "I love you" doesn't require much thought. It seems PARP saying. I think I love you, to me, is more honest. I can't be sure that I do, I really can't. But I've really tried to weigh everything up and this is the decision that I've come to.
But again, it's these *expletive deleted* (I forgot this was Freeola) sayings and phrases that are meant to mean something just if you say them. Everything could really do with some context and the way I personally like to handle things is by coming to the point of saying 'I think I love you' is pretty much saying 'I do love you'. If I think it this much, then well, I guess that's my reality in this funny little brain of mine. But to be sure of such a reality is well.. I'm not sure of it. But I don't see why that needs to be explained. The only way to make these two sayings perhaps the same is by putting them against honesty, otherwise, on their own, they can mean quite different things. I am quite happy to be unsure of what reality is, but work in thinking and possibility instead of face value. It's a special word and it deserves some wuv
