I wanted to link to this a few weeks ago but the site was down. Essentially you put your surname into the search engine and it tells you the "origins" or locations where that surname is most prevalent. There are some other tools on the site but i've not checked them yet.

Apparently 'Bright' is from NZ, Oz, Carolina and the UK. Indian, Sweden and Canada seem to come up highly too.

Funnily enough my sisters, grandads and fathers names are the top 3 most common for my surname. I'm not even in the top 10 :(

I thought my name's been splashed all over the place so much it'd only be a few people who didn't know it, kinda don't care any more!

If I need to go underground I'll change my name to Mike Scroates

I was thinking along the same lines, hence why I didn't post my surname (as I figure it’s only one step away from late night sodimisation). You did though Grix, are ya’ lonely?

I think maybe from this information here you could work out someone's name

I'm not that unbusy enough to try though, but might be fun.
