I find it an excuse that Alex Ferguson calls the team a disgrace when he should be looking at both himself and the teams efforts whilst playing like Division 3 team?

He plays Laural and Hardy.. er I mean Veron and P.Neville in the centre of midfield hmm..

Lets see Mr Ferguson...

P.Neville - Cannot Pass, Tackle or defend for gods sake..

Veron - Left on his own, cannot tackle and didn't look like anything other than average

Against a 5 man City midfield with 3 central midfield players..

Did we even stand a chance?

Our midfield looked like a sieve and there was no protection to the back four, we look to the bench we see no inspiration no cole, no yorke...

The creator of Man U is now destroying the team.

If no radical changes are made we wont anything for a while.

I know we have a few injury worries at the moment and becks wasnt there either, but we couldnt even get down to the basics like simple passing or tackling it was atrocious -- its like the players on the pitch dont want to be there or are not motivated enough anymore and are not happy..

Yeh and thats where he is currently failing, he feels that a left back can play in centre midfirled rather than giving a young player a chance to play where he does naturally, w ehave lost a few good youngsters in the past ad I hope that doesnt happen with Nardiello, Richardson et al.

I think that Fergie should play some young players to see if they can perform well.

I mean look at Villa when they brought Vassell on as a sub in the UEFA Cup when they were losing. He scored 2 goals on the 90th minute.

At the very worst he should be giving more first team action to some of the younger players. We've lost good players like Greening in recent years because Ferguson is too hesitant to give first team football to unproven players.

There's no real need to play him in there

This is what our midfield should look like tonight:

Veron
Scholes
Beckham
Giggs

If P.Neville can get in there before one of them - then Ferguson's a fool. There's even young players like Djordic who can play better in that role than Phil bloody nevillie..

So why?

If neville plays in midfield, I'm not even going to watch it.

With Becks comin back and the current lack of central midfield players -- im hoping to see him possibly moving to a more central role? - Hopefully P.Neville's not asked to play there. *Shrug*

Hopefully he'll get it right tonight against Leverkusen.

It may not be a vital must-win game, but they are a big team, and out reputation is still at stake.

Ferguson must be quietly rueing his decision - I'd hate to see him do a Brian Clough and tarnish his reputation by failing at the end...

Indeed, It just like last season. Playing players in positions there aren't use too and are no good there. Its like when we put Scholes just behind Van Nistelrooy, It didn't work. But now hes put Scholes as a actual striker or central midfielder, hes playing much better.

Yeh he has, but he's been playing with Butt a lot of the time and been given a free role

Thats the thing - Veron is a play maker not a ball winner, I guess That was P.Nevilles job - Ball Winner?

Thats what I don't understand - The likes of Djordic can do a much better job than Phil, yet he gets in the team before they do?

Butt had an operation and is out for a month or so :( so thats Keane and Butt out -- noone to break up play in midfield.
