"The best looking console"

Now I'm not a man that's pleased easily by asthetics, so I wouldn't be fickle enough to say that the best console is the one that looks best. But which console do you think looks best?

I think that, out of all of the consoles I've seen, and owned, the one that looked the coolest was my Japanese Sega Megadrive. I'm not sure exactly what it was about it, but it just looks better than any other console. Maybe it was the dark red hoop around the cardrige slot, or maybe the 'ruffled' effect that it had. It was certainly an improvement upon the original Master Sysyem design, which was a rather odd shape, and the big grey block which was the NES. The consoles which followed the Megadrive haven't really caught my eye, they all look pretty standard really.

Except the Gamecube. I like the look of that, but would have to see it with my own eyes before I could pass judgement.

It's what you put in the slot that counts.

I own a SNES....

The SNES was ugly on both counts, no hope for that poor thing then.

Remember, consoles are like people...

Doesn't matter how ugly they are, it's what's inside that counts...

My Sega Megadrive with Sega CD add on looked really cool, until you touched it and it fell apart. Reminded me of the 16k RAM pack you used to get with a ZX81 that you had to secure with Blu-tac to stop it wobbling about. So that has my vote as the best looking console, for purely emotional reasons. *sniff*

The Borg took a liking to cubes, and they're all mindless automatons, too...

The Jaguar. It looked great, all black and slick.
