Although I'm aithiest, It's not the actual Religious bit of Christmas I dislike, after all the 25TH of December is only One day out of 365 days in the year and although most of western society is built upon a 2000 year old fairy tale that supposedly took on the 25TH December 0000, It's still not that what bothers me.
What does bother me about Christmas, is practically everything else, Christmas Dinner, Christmas Decorations, Christmas Trees, Christmas Television Schedules, oh and of cause the commercialisation of Christmas!
I think everyone accepts the commercialisation of Christmas now but why? Why is that every year people act like brainwashed (Or brain-dead) Zombies, "We Must Shop" "Shopping Is Good, We Must Shop More". Of cause I'm guilty of myself and even though we are only just in to November, already My credit card has received more pounding than Prostitute giving away Freebies.
I suppose you could even class Christmas as an addiction and if you do, Then I am admitting to being an addict. Yes, I have a compulsion, an addiction to go shopping, to Spend money, to buy tacky Christmas decorations and even tackier Christmas presents.
My addiction is so bad, at Christmas I even forget my principles. I buy a tree that has been needlessly cut down, I then use this tree for my own pleasure and then even though I try my best to replant the tree, it just shrivels away and dies. If that's not bad enough, I must use the equivalent of another tree in wrapping presents, which themselves are mass produced, overpriced Branded high street goods.
Apart from Shopping and financial issues of Christmas, I totally dislike the whole concept of 'Christmas Parties', why have a party at Christmas, are you really celebrating the birth Of Christ, or is just an excuse to consume massive amounts of alcohol (For those who need an excess or maybe it's an excuse to loose your inhibitions and do ridicules things that you wouldn't do anywhere else except a Stag or Hen party?
So, I hate the whole commercialism of Christmas, I feel guilty about Christmas Tree's and I don't see the point of Christmas Parties. I could go on and on all day, I could rant on about Christmas Dinners, naff presents and assembling children's toy which make putting together an Ikea Book shelf look simple But your probably relived to hear, I won't, I think you get the point now, I DISLIKE Christmas! (and who's with me?)

It worked for the Crusaders.

Yeah - they are all so interested in getting the sweets that they dont notice that they are setting fire to the chairs and each other - it's great seeing the pandemonium as the helpers look around in total panic trying to get some kind of order back....
That'll never work.

Do you realise what you have just done there Ant.
You have crossed out Christ......
One of the worse parts of Christmas is the commercialism of the whole thing. Christmas stuff appearing in shops during October...
It's a great celebration of the birth of Jesus but most people nowadays have no inkling at all about what it means.
We have a Christingle service on Christmas eve when the children do the nativity play etc and it is always the highest attended service at our church throughout the whole year. We culminate with singing happy birthday to Jesus.
Yeah I love Christmas - It's great to see family that you dont normally see apart from at weddings and funerals. It's great that people around you generally seem happy about life at that time of year.
I sang that when i was like in primary 3 at the school concert. It amazes me that i still remeber some of the words.
Well, if I want something, I'll buy it myself, I haven't received a present I actually really, really wanted since I got my Radio controlled Ferrari when I was 8. As for family, well I 'divorced' my parents when I was 13 and so family for me is My grandparents, which I see all year round, not just a Christmas. Finally, as for food, I'm a vegetarian, so without giving you all that normal veggie rubbish, I think you get the idea.
Now, before anyone says I'm bitter or I don't like Christmas because of the above or even that I have never a Experienced a good Christmas, I have and too some extent I still do, It's just that I don't enjoy it, Roll on Easter, Roll on buying and eating excessive amounts of chocolate, roll on, roll on ...........
I'm not religious, and for any maggot foolish enough to argue why I should celebrate christmas when I don't believe in God, I tell you this:
Christmas is not a religious holiday. It's an excellent excuse to bring the family together and end the year.
For those idiot enough to say that that is what New Year's Eve is for, no. New Year's Eve is a celebration of the end of one year, and the beginning of a new one.
Very different.
