Sony made a great success with the original Playstation through an endless supply of games and some quite superb advertising.
So it is understandable that so much hype has been created for the successor. Now no one can believe what a failure the console is. First Sony sends so few supply that there is more chance of winning the National Lottery then getting one, then they send out quite a disappointing amount of games for launch day. None of the games so far have impressed as much as expected and surely the games can only get better.
And the DVD feature. The much acclaimed feature of the console has been found to be faulty and totally disappointing. Some DVDs seem to not want to work while others have poor picture quality.
What a shame Sony have messed up from the start. My advice get a Dreamcast as it has a great range of titles including the amazing Half-Life, and is much cheaper with a modem included, not like PS2 where more money on top of the expensive £299 just to get internet access. Also the Dreamcast is four player, the PS2 is two player in case you are prepared to spend even more money.
The facts speak for themselves, the PS2 is no Playstation, more of a Saturn.
It's been argued back and forth over and over, and I think it's about time we moved on from the pointless willy-waving.

Well, you sure are a glutton for punishment then, aren't you! Coming to a PS2 forum... what did you expect to find?

Hmm. Yeah, whatever.

Of course, they always do - on any format.

The lack of RGB is a fault of Sony UK, not the machne itself. And yes, it is annoying.

That's a problem with many DVD's though. Several dedicated players couldn't play The Matrix when it came out.

No, sorry - that's a lie. I have a £750 Sony DVD player, and the PS2's output is only marginally worse - which you'd pretty much expect of any £300 DVD player.

Ah, here it comes - the Dreamcast plug. Yes, the Dreamcast does have a good range of games. It should do, as it's been around for two years. You'd be a tad disappointed if it didn't.

Half-Life is also coming to PS2, but I played it on the PC about a year ago, so I can't say I'm overly excited.

A third-party modem is on the way, and when we're fed up waiting for your 33.6 modem to keep up with our broadband connection during a game of UT, we'll just kick you off, shall we?

Yes, and you don't have to buy another 3 controllers for a four-player game either, do you?
> The facts speak for themselves
Yes, indeed they do.
Tell you what, there are more posts from Dreamcast people here than there are on the Dreamcast forum. If PS2 is so bad, why are you worried enough to come on here and diss it? Have confidence in your purchase, be happy with it, stop worrying about what PS2 can and can't do, and go and talk to your fellow Dreamcast owners.
Your forum needs you! They'll thank you for it, and so will we!
