The Daily Mail tries to pin the gales yesterday on Al Queda and Bin Laden, offering it as another excuse to "go in" to Iraq?

Reply to Goatboy I meant :) He's just hoping I launched into another 101 reasons to whack his bestest buddy Saddam. Besides I can't resist laughing where Mojojojo said "TV news is usually almost always fact, not opinion, and gives all sides of the argument" lol

First thing you should have done in any media or sociology course, in fact in any course where facts can be interpreted differenntly, is that everything is biased in some ways. He's even biased because he thinks the news offers mainly facts and not opinion.

The news always has a certain slant on it - reporters are not lying, they're showing a certain viewpoint.

If I read the Daily Mail after I'd had a shower I'd have to get straight back in again to remove all the rabid right-wingery it comes out with. My predicted headlines this week:

I can't stand the Daily Mail. My parents get it, and I read it most mornings after I get out of the shower. It's almost 100% opinion, not news.

After doing sociology for two years, I saw just how biased newspapers are, and I don't trust anything I read in them anymore. TV news is usually almost always fact, not opinion, and gives all sides of the argument

I was in Herefordshire last week and saw a local newspaper with the headline 'Local Scientists Battle Saddam's Deadly Plague Bombs'. Obviously I feel much safer now; but when will journalists learn that the flu vaccination programme is NOT an interesting news item?
