This trend is good for the DC, but it won't last. Recently the developers of Abe's Odessey pulled out from PS2 development to work exclusively for the X-Box, losing Sony one of it's most popular characters for platforming. More and more developers are looking to the X-Box for its capabilities rather than Sony, as they believe that this new console from Microsoft will enable them to realise their talents more fully over a shorter time span, enabling them to release more games over the same period and therefore make more bucks.
A lot of developers are sticking with Sony because they have already invested a lot in developing for the machine, but the trend seems to be that developers are starting to look at the X-Box as a long term prospect rather than the 3 or 4 years lifespan of the PS2. It's a shame really because if the PS2 isn't used enough, a lot of good console will go to waste. Time will, as they say, tell.
