Computer games addict dies after playing nonstop for 86 hours
A South Korean games addict died after playing nonstop for 86 hours.
According to the Syney Morning Herald the 24-year-old man, identified by police as Kim, was found dead on Tuesday at an internet café in Kwangju.
Police said Kim had been virtually glued to the computer since for 86 hours and had not slept or eaten.
He collapsed in front of the front desk but soon regained his consciousness. He then went to the toilet where he was later found dead.
An initial investigation ruled out the possibility of murder and police believe he probably died of exhaustion.
More than half of South Korea's population of 47 million has internet access, and there are also about 22,000 cyber cafés - also known as PC rooms. Many of these PC rooms are open 24 hours.

that's what I thought, but hopefully a game playing friend of the reporters might point out, as you said, doing anything for 3 days strait is likely to kill you.

> what game could he have kept playing for 86 hours??
There's a theory going around that it could have been the beta trial of Evil's Illusion, the MMORPG sequel to Legend of Mir, which is one of the most popular games in Asia at the moment.
Either that or CounterStrike, which was rumoured to be implicated in the death of another gamer a few months back. (He died of stress, apparently, after another extended redeye session).
Playing Football, doing maths, watching TV, reading a book, even staying awake for that long!!!
I hope the media don't twist this into a "Computer Games are bad for you" topic...
and why did noone stop him? cos that is over 3 days, I would have though the owner of the cafe might have been vagually worried.

If your talking to your Mum through an internet discussion forum, then your probably spending too much time in the Internet too?
