I'm sorry, but just what is the point? All day yesterday, there were rockets being launched. You couldn't see them, but you could hear them.
And that's my point... YOU COULDN'T SEE THEM.
Isn't 95% of the point of such fireworks to see the pretty colours? If you launch them during the day, all you can see is a thin column of grey smoke, and not much else.
Doesn't that kinda make fireworks a bigger waste of money than they already are? (Don't get me wrong - I *like* fireworks, but they're just so damn expensive these days, if you want anything more than 'pffffft, whistle, pop')
Where I work there seems to be a person (or persons) who likes to set off fireworks at about 5.20pm. This is the time when I am backing the wagons on the bay. If any of you have ever driven a wagon then you will know that it takes concentration. The last thing I need is some idiot letting off bangers!
Did you hear about that estate in the North East? Apparently the drug suppliers there let off fireworks when they have a new supply so all the junkies know they can get some brown. The families on the estate are too frightened to let off fireworks on bonfire night for fear of a bunch of smacked up losers coming round to their house!
I'd have no problem at all throwing one in the face of the little gits.
