Personally I think it must have been something he ate, possibly a hot dog ;)
All you little gamers out there should not try that.
Anyway, back to the point, this event pitted teams of four people through an horrendous ordeal in pursuit of Self fulfilment, team building and of cause the chance of winning large cash prize. The event took place over 100's of Kilometres (whatever they are) in a time frame of up to about 3 days.
As I am a self confessed couch potato, I watched In horror as I saw these poor people struggle through the challenge. They started at Midnight with a few kilometres bike ride before ditching the bikes and hiking through the night. Now, any normal person would be exhausted by then but there was no stopping these guys.
Through wind and Rain up mountains and down vallies, theses contestants struggled on for between 2 and 4 days (depending how fast they were), with little food and none or little sleep. I was amazing as I saw these people do, after all It was an effort making a cup of tea in the adverts.
Of cause, some people didn't make it and those who did were clearly exhausted. Before watching this program, I never knew how much Us humans could do. For me it's 8 hours minimum sleep per night or indeed day, plenty of food and drink. Ok I can spend Hours playing games, instead of killing myself from exhaustion, It would be more likely Obesity, or even electrocution as I spill my drink over the console.
How did this guy does it?, as I've said Play games and use the PC for hours but Sleep, Drink and Food is very high on my priority. By the way does anyone know what game this guy was playing??

Ah, don't spoil it. Besides, not all people are as robust as your boyfriend most likely.
