Now that everything is finally in working order, i feel i can happily explain it.
I got a Q. An unmodified one, thought there was a chance the r2 dvd would play both pal and ntsc dvds. It didn't.
I then sent it to get the fella modified - all region and pal dvds, and us and jap cube games (so i could get the cube menu screen in english :^) ).
Got it back today, and everything's in working order. Very happy :^)
When i get freeloader and can check on its workingness with my own eyes, i'll put up a buyers guide thread here for anyone interested, with buying options, cheap retailers and tech stuff.
In the meantime, i'll be watching dvds on my panasonic with the flyboy shiny face thing :^)
If you do want any info now though, i'd be happy to answer any questions or point you in the right direction.
(isn't jealous)
Normal Gamecube is better
(honestly)
You want a DVD/Console get a PS2
(well maybe a little)
Or an X-box
(maybe %10 jealous)
The Q looks too shiny

ARRGGHH!

A buyers guide eh? Sounds good.
Just have to sell off my dvd and gamecube now :^)
And it was nothing like £500. Try the £300 - 350 ballpark. But i'll put up prices and web sites when i do a full buyers' guide. Then again, if you do want them in a hurry, i can dig some up again for you now, if you like.
Well, too late, I've eaten them now.
Your loss :)

I'll raise that to 5 black wine Gums and a Strawberry Chupa Chups lolly.
