Okay, so a couple of weeks back Snuggly did his "Please Read This All Of You" topic about swearing, abuse e.t.c being used on the forums. Everyone did their usual thing agreeing with the staff member, and now were back to normal. People are saying c$ap, p*ss &ff e.t.c. and some people are banned for certain swearing and abuse whilst others aren't.

What happened to the thing of no one using it, and everyone being treated the same for using it ? Seems to have gone wayward. Fair enough, there will always be people new to the forums who use it, but it's still regulars using it most of the time.

It's not like people need swear words to make good topics is it ? Yes, probably plenty of us here have heard it all before and worse, but is it that essential to use on here ?

Whether we can or cannot swear on here, the way it is treated should be consistent, not just banning newbies...

really, i should think its only neccecary to complain if the swears are directed negativly towards something. like some one saying:

you'r f-ing rubbish idiot mate

or

the x-box is utter SH*te because microsoft dont know a f-ing thing about consoles,

would be offensive, because they are using a derogitory term that is considered a word that is worse that other words, but if you simply said:

the match was f-ing great

or

Halo is one of the f-ing best games i've ever played,

is not something which you should rationally be offended by, seeing as it has nothing at all to do with you. admitidly this is everyones forum, and they probably still arn't doing anybody a favour by swearing here, but they arn't meaning to hurt anybody with there words. they just need to be gently told that we prefer a lack of cussing here, NOT ranted at and told to go find a dictionairy, because that is likely to cause a far larger bout of spamming and damage to our 'profound order' than any amount of moderate swearing..

I don't think anyone is necessarily saying we get offended, just that there is no need for it ! Swearing is unnecessary and doesn't really add anything. If you think something is bad say why, not swear.

If in real life you constantly use swear words to describe everything then most people quickly get fed up of listening to you and ignore you.

The other point is that Snuggly made an effort to say no swearing was goign to be allowed, and yet there is no evidence of any action being taken to remove swearing at all, in fact yesterday in a life topic I'm pretty sure Snuggly had read this topic and was taking the mickey out of it....might have got it wrong but one post there had swear words in and all he did after I posted (not saying anything about the swearing BTW) was "*points to original post*".......

I don't but I can understand that Special Reserve don't want customers coming on the forums and seeing a load of fowl mouthed teenagers turning the forums blue.

Shall we all stop acting like we get offended by swearing, we all do it so there's no need to pretend that someone saying a rude word offends. I can understand the whole equality thing though, i've seen many a Notable and quite a few regulars use the old f*** since Snuggly's message and nothing's been done about it.
