I've got five now, and have unlocked three levels. Woohoo!
I wouldn't be suprised if they actually did something. In Mario 64, they turned into Bomb's, if memory serves me well.
I've only got the one, I was gonna ask the same question, don't think you can get back there.
Anyone know if the blue butterflies do anything?
I always see them flying around on their own, me thinks you get a blue coin off it somehow like you do with the birds, gonna have to get Yoshi out and see if he can munch them.

How many shines do you guys have on the Airstrip? It's just that I only have 1 there, and I see no possible way of getting back over there. Did I miss one at all?

You can shoot the birds with the water cannon as well, much easier than using Yoshi. Oh and yeah you get a Star from the yellow ones.
That bloody floaty leaf mini game is uber hard, I can get six of the coins but the other 2 are practically impossible.

So many replies to make:
I finally realised that I COULD grab that giant chomp by the tail, so I ended up solving that particular mission quite easily.
Tilt, I spent ages trying to get to that Island with Yoshi (the little runt dissolves everytime he touches the water!) only to find that annoying mini-game that I couldn't complete!
By the way, there's a golden bird on that Island.
If Yoshi eats a green bird then you get a coin.
If he eats a blue one, it's a blue coin.
Perhaps you get a shine for the golden one...
I currently have 76 shines, and I've rescued Peach (I won't spoil the ending. I found it really cheesy but that just made it funny! :-D).
Although I've beaten the boss, I get the feeling that it's far from over...
I'll be disappointed if there are only 9 levels (+ the hub + the airstrip).
Still, even if I've finished the lot by the end of the week, I expect I'll come back a lot just to mess around.
