This game rules so much, been playing it for the last 3hrs and I'm in gaming heaven.
Mario kicks mucho backside. There's so much to do and mess around with, I just ripped the legs of a big Octopus thing which was quite amusing. The music rule as well, the remixed versions of old themes are fookin superb, wait till ya hear them.
Anyway I have Shines to get.
If another game comes out this year that's better than Mario then i'll eat my hat.
Best.Game.Ever.....well one of them anyway.
Plus its the only game I have ever played that when you get frustrated, does not make you turn off the console. It keeps you going.
Its large, sunny, fun, even the camera is better than almost all the otger platformers put together, and its just a million time better than practicly anything else available at the moment!
Well. Thats my opinion anyway!
;)

Well it does ease off, but it still gives lots of needless information.

Did I say Nintendo was for toddlers? No. If I thought that then I wouldn't have a GameCube, now, would I? But it does have the feel of something designed for the younger gamer. I mean all the advice etc. It doesn't really bring anything new to the genre like its predecessors did. The FLUDD device is an innovation, but that's where it ends. The camera is almost decent, but it often hides you behind a wall and you have to move somewhere else before you can see Mario again. It relies on manual movement, which you can't do on some of the stages due to other things (like actually playing the game) and it hinders you.
I'm not saying the game is bad - indeed it is better than I was expecting. I was expecting that it would be fun to control and stuff but little to do. It proved me wrong, but I don't like the linearity of it. There's no choice to the level order, it's just one thing after another. Even just an option at the end of the level asking to go on to the next one or back to Delfino Plaza would be nice.
It isn't the game of the year but it's okay. By the way, to all the people who DO think Sunshine is the game of the year, what do you think of Luigi's Mansion? I'm just curious to see, I don't even have the game myself. Luigi's Mansion, that is, I do have Sunshine.

It's superb, best game i've played since Zelda OOT, maybe even the best game i've ever played. I'm loving it so much, I can't be bothered to write a long post defending it to you and saying how good it is and that it's not a kiddies platformer, cause lets face it we get at least one narrow minded fool in here every week saying Nintendo's for toddlers etc etc.
It's brilliant, gaming perfection, end of story.

What I've been meaning to come on and say.
That game has sort of given my modem a holiday...
Anyway, I LOVE those old school style bonus stages.
The water pack is brilliant, the levels are fantastically designed, there's loads to do...
Also, (I'm assuming you gotten the first "shine" on the amusement park) it looks like we've found out what Bowser and Peach have been getting up to while they wait for Mario to rescue her! ;-D
> I've sold the original a few months back.

Ah well, only a couple more months to wait then.
:-)
> Speaking of Monkeys, when is the sequel to Monkey Ball out?

The end of November / start of December.
