Hi all,

apologies if this has already been covered in previous posts, but has anyone else had problems recieving the dirty or damaged disk error from their x box? At first I thought it was my turok disk as it came consistently in the same place. I'm past that level no and it hasn't bothered me again.
Now however I am getting the same error from another disk, in seemingly random places. Can anyone offer advice? Is it the disk, is it the laser. Is there a solution

thanks all for your time

i have never played an x-box in a store because EVERYTIME i try to the dirty disk error comes up. not had this trouble with my nintardo gaypube either, but it must be something to do with it being for kids. only big hard men need sit there all day cursing the fact their console is defective. :)

Must... not... make... anti... xbox... comment... about... crappy... hardware...

Never had the problem with my Gaycube, proves it's better than the Xbox then doesn't it!

:c)

Just asked my mate, he hasn't had the problem with his one. Probably where you keep it though, carpeted areas produce fluff and hairs that can get onto disks and the lasers. He has a room with wooden floors so there is less fluff...

Sorry mate but I have never had this. Try what Daveus said and buy a disk cleaner, it's probably your best bet.

Think I had it happen once when switching games. No serious problem, simply open the tray, lift the game, put it back in and it should work fine. It really isn't anything major.

I've never got a dirty disk error. AT ALL.

Maybe I'm just lucky, or you might both have faulty boxes.

try using a DVD and CD laser lense cleaner...

i hope that helps. you can usually buy them from all well known stores, like Dixons, PC World etc. any place that sells steros, DVD players etc...
