Loved it.
It takes everything that made American Pie cool and doubles it.
It's Hilarious,discusting, and has its soppy moments for the gals and less manly men ;p

Vomit,Boobs,and Giant dog nads.

Mystique rates this film...ummm 8.6/10

The trailer made it look (to me at least) like they were trying to make a Ferris Bueller type character? ... Something they could later spin off into a sit-com?

Not that Ive seen the movie, read any reviews, or know anything about the movie other than the trailer... all the same, I intend to make up everything I don't know about the movie and decide my conclusions on that basis.

I usually take Jonthan Ross's opinion quite seriously as well. In my opinion American Pie wasnt all that funny, it pulls some laughs, but its not a great film. And as for Scary Movie, thats just a load of toss. I would rather knaw on my own spine than watch that garbage again. Which makes me think that Van Wilder is most likely missable.

I don't like reading in depth reviews of films before I've seen them, I just want to know if it's good or not. Then I'll probably see the film anyway, so I can make my own mind up

Same here! Simple humour, with vulgarity and fart jokes. Base humour at its best.

American Pie films where funny but whole teen comedy formula is getting very boring and judging by the trailer for this, it trys nothing new.

watch Terror Firmer for some pure comic gross out genious, makes the grossest mainstream Hollywood efforts look like Mary Poppins. Don't bother if you get offended by the site of someone getting beaten to death with their own leg, or someone having bong water poored down a funnel into their backside.

Purely offensive gross out humour, most people will think it's disgusting and offensive though. Maybe one of the sickest film ever created if you take it too seriously, more boobs and *insert other word for bum here* than a porn convention.

The Daily Mail would have a field day if this film was ever released in the UK.

Best.film.ever.

Yep it does rely on cheap laughs but I like that. Ah well, and now after the "oh wow, I've just seen this" thing has settled my new rating is ummmmmmmm 7 outta 10

Teen flicks like this just make me angry, they aren't funny in the slightest, rely on rudeness and vulgarity for cheap laughs and are just complete cinematic toss with no redeeming features.
American Pie isn't funny, Road Trip isn't funny, and all the other 50 similar films that try to be like this aren't funny either.

I don't usually like any film critics, but I respect what Jonothan Ross says as i've read enough of his reviews to know that he isn't just "a cinema luvie" who loves pretentious French epics about refugees WWII. He likes decent films, unlike this steaming pile of >something I can't write for fear of getting banned<.

Well i don't respec the views of any critics really, as half ar so up themselves. And just rate things highly because it makes them look "cool and in with the hollywood lot" how American beauty cleaned up in thw award ceremonies is beyond me. I found it fairly entertaining but most of the people who i know (of varying age groups) thought it was pretty crap. It is just Hollywood self appreciation. Personally I think you are better off listening to the views of people your age and with similar(ish) taste, as it is likely to give you a better indication of what you like. Haven't seen it but it looks OK id be surprised if it was better than American Pie but it looks watchable.

Well Jonathan Ross gave it a big fat zero and called it a stinker.
I respect his opinions because he's a big fan of Japanese anime and he's very funny on They Think it's a Over, especially when he's bitten by ferrets.
