Picked this up last night from my local indie. Spent an hour on it.

It. Looks. Fantastic. Contains some impressive graphical touches. The environments are beautiful. Full of rich, vibrant colours. No pop-up that I've seen to speak of either. It has an "epic" look and feel to it.

Dolby Pro Logic II sound too. Okay, it's not Dolby 5.1, but this suffices and creates an aural delight. The local dilect of the Dinosaur Planet, is a little strange at first. Almost sounds like Hoolio Geordio from the Harry Enfield sketches. Minus the Geordie accent.

It is a Zelda clone for all intents and purposes. It handles like Zelda. Some of the puzzle elements are Zelda-esque. Certain scenarios involving other natives are Zelda-esque too. However, whilst comparisons are obviously drawn to Nintendo's own epic adventure, Starfox does retain an identity of it's own.

The Arwing scenarios handle like the N64 Lylat Wars title, albeit with a looser feel to them. You can shoot your way through mines and enemies to get to the next-section. Make no mistake. This is a good game. It provides the perfect anaedote *until* Zelda hits the PAL shores towards the middle of next-year.

Oh, almost forgot. There was hoopla a couple of months ago that Starfox comes on 2-discs. It doesn't. It comes on 1-disc.

Havn't got it yet, can't wait til SFA.
Nintendo and Ex-RARE have not revealed any more of the boss except the huge mantis dinosaur and the T-Rex bosses, both of which I know some ways to defeat them.

Just read the In-depth review of Starfox Adventures in this months CUBE mag, and so far it is the best mag for Starfox Adventures news, it contains 8 full pages of info and Jaw dropping pics, some new and some already viewed.

*Spoiler*
*Unless you want to read it for yourself you better not listen*
Right at the start when you've reach a main village you will find a cave which contains the Main Games dealership full items maps and upgrades, there are two whole rooms full of maps (this is basically when you find out how big the game really is).
The first part that you play as fox you are in your Arwing on your way to the planet through some hard space asteroid fields. When you land you will eventually pick up the staff but you don't know what the inscriptions read so far.
*Spoiler ends*

That's all I know so you can know some more in this and next months CUBE mag.

Who cares if it's in the style of Zelda? If it delivers the same style of gameplay and hours of exploratiion and adventuring, then it will be well worth it.

In the demo I played you do start with Fox, and you're just learning how to use the Staff he uses.

I suppose they didn't want to get you thinking that the whole game was situated around a character other than Fox, which is why they made the demo starting from the bit he comes into it.

From what I played, I enjoyed every second of it.

Yeah. I don't have a PAL GameCube. Just a modded Japanese one, so I can play US games on it too.

An "indie" store is an Independant Retailer. I.e. Not a high-street chain like Game, EB etc.
