Now answer me this:
Does anyone else pick at them when they're hard in the pack?
I do. I think they taste yummy dry.
And secondly:
Did Double Decker's used to have raisins in?
I was eating one today, and I seem to remember this from when I was younger. Anyone know for sure?
Opal fruits were forced to change their name by the courts because they do not actually contain any fruit.
Heard that somewhere. Pretty sure it was true too.
The quality control department would pick up all the bars that had been damaged during production - alot of damages used to happen - and they would all be mashed up and made into the base of the bar - a bit of whipped up nougat on top and cover in chocolate and you have a cost effective way of getting rid of the stuff that used to be bagged of an sold for 10p a pound or whatever they used to charge. So yes - you may well have found raisins from time to time.
Spangles - yay - what about the old english ones - urrrr. And the soft centered ones ?
Opal fruits - whatever happened to the mint flavoured ones then - later called Pacers ??
Snickers ? ex Marathon - another one changed to match the US branding.

I bet you didn't know Rowntrees not only makes sweets, but is also a big charity organisation, set up by the founder (someone or other Rowntree) years ago, to help kids. Sort of like Banardos
I only stopped because I don't think it's too good for you... I used to eat LOADS of the stuff
:-D
I have no raisin to believe double deckers had raisins in. (ho ho).
But I know that Spangles tasted great the first time around, but not when they were re-released.
I know that Rowntrees fruit gums tasted much better and stuck to the roof of your mouth more.
I also remember when Nestles was pronounced Nestels and was a British company.
I once ate a cake that I didnt know had raisens in it...
Spat the *£@% out as soon as I bit into a raisen...
The name Starbursts ain't so bad, I like it anyway.
Then again I would right? ;)
