If you walked into a shop and you had the choice of either a Beat 'em up game or a Wrestling game which one would you choose?

Beat 'em ups and Wrestling games both involve kicking the hell into your opponent but when you look back at the games they look and play totally different.

Beat 'em ups offer:

* A huge selection of moves

* Many arena's that completely differ to one another

* Fast paced fighting

* A vast selection of characters

* Now 3D levels (as seen in Tekken 4)

* A short 1 player adventure mode

* And a few mini-games that add in a good laugh

Where as,

Wrestling Games offer:

* A vast ammount of realistic moves unlike beat 'em ups, for instance when you kick someone they fly about 5 foot in the air.

* A huge selection of real life characters (about 45 - 50)

* Different arena's and backstage areas that interact with the wrestlers. (However this is beginning to happen with beat 'em ups as seen in Dead or Alive 3)

* Season mode or other variations of one player modes

* Create-a-wrestler

* Loads of different match types rather than just the odd few seen on beat 'em up games.

* Amazing video entrances and other fmv's

My point to all this is that wrestling games are usually marked down to scores of around 7 or 8 whereas Beat 'em games usually get top scores of 9's and 10's. However, when you take both game genre's and compare them with one another you can clearly see that wrestling games offer more than beat 'em ups but yet achieve a lower score.

I've played both WWE Wrestlemania X8 for the gamecube and WWE Raw for the x-box and to be honest I had more fun on these two wrestling games than on top scoring games such as Tekken Tag Team and Dead or Alive 3.

What do you think?

P.S For all of you wrestling fans this will be an exiciting few days as both Wrestlemania X8 and Raw are both released this Friday.

Who do you think will succide. Gamecube or X-box???

UFC is a good fighting game.

Wrestling games rule.

If it was a fighting game like Tekken or DOA or Street Fighter then i'd definately choose the wrestling game.

Fire Pro Wrestling has got both wrestling and UFC built in.

I'd choose wrestling games over fighting ones.

But UFC and wrestling would be a hard choice.

So Fire Pro Wrestling it is then. 2-in-1.

Hurrah for me.

Play Buffy on the X-Box and you'll have no questions about what is the best way to kick some un-dead :D
