I know there's a topic already on this but i really don't mind Rare going to Microsoft!!!! Banjo Kazooie in my opinion was OK but not a great game, Perfect Dark was brilliant but i doubt very much that it can live up to the expectations of the first one, and they rushed it at the end anyway, why aliens??? Other Rare games were good but not massively missed {ok it is ashame we're not seeing Perfect Dark} My Gamecube is great and has not one Rare game on it, Nintendo making Donkey Kong will bring it back to it's roots and will be fantastic, Go through the list of Gamecube games Import and Pal that you have and name me one Rare Game.

I have:

Animal Crossing
SMB2
Resident Evil
Beach Spikers
Mario Sunshine
SSBM
ISS2

All great games which have came out in a matter of a few months!! I don't Care about Rare!!!!!!! Are Gamecube's will still stay the greatest system... Believe me, I WANT TO KEEP STAR FOX ADVENTURES THOUGH. :D

How do we know that though? If you think about it, it could have been quite easy to convert it into an adult game, with little hassle.

But that was just it, the bulk of the game was already done. They just had to throw in some bad language and drinking.

Right...

So the original Conker had a war with Teddies, a giant Alien at the end that burst out of a panther king's belly, started off as a drunk hangover, had a mafia beat up some weasel, used Resident Evil style zombies and had you blowing them away with shotguns and had you shooting swarms of wasps with a machine gun mounted hive?

I doubt it.
They probably lifted odd bits and pieces like the odd character model and level part, but it was clearly a LOT more than a mere voiceover/change a couple of graphics here and there.

The game had been redesigned, almost completely.

Same platforming engine, perhaps a couple of levels re-used and patched up, but other than that, it was almost redesigned from scratch.

Nope they basically finished it, Canned it, brought it back and changed the story and dialogue. Remember the end designer was chris Seavor who is Rare's voice artist.

???

I doubt it.
The groundwork was there - the game engine and all, and possibly some of the characters/backgrounds drawn up, but most of it was made post "bad fur day" transition.

Obviously, the fantastic animation was done since the change, along with the style and humour that made this game REALLY stick out.

Yeah. That's what I've been saying.

Besides, it's the newer generation of Rare designers that transformed Conkers 12 tales from being another Mario wannabe, into Conker's Bad Fur Day - a unique adventure, full of wit, and character.

maybe so , but those "best" people that left were replaced by new people (maybe even dogs) that rare accepted because they are of the highest standard. When someone good leaves , then someone new comes in , with fresh ideas and energy to work at rare. I read somewhere that most people that come to rare only stay for one to two games as the pressure on them to make a great game is so high they can't stand it any longer.
