What is so different from the US version that it’s going to take several months? I have the beta version and it works fine.
The european version is still in public testing. It won't be out for a few months
I find it odd that EA would stop the release of the game in Europe, after all whats the point of having an online game if its not going to be fully online? Surely the whole point is to play with and against people across the world.
Anyway, if it definatly isn't coming to europe, then you may want to keep an eye on Homeworld 2, Imperium Galactica 3 and Haegemonia (I don't know how exactly that is said) All those games, are primarily single player ones, but they will come with online support.

From checking the forums at westwoodstudios.com it appears that Electronic Arts are not releasing this game in Europe.
But I don't speak for SR so yeah, stick it in the customer service forum for a quicker response
