That must have been the Earthquake we've all been hearing about. Rumour has it that the 'quake was caused by an idiotic Xbox owner droping his console on the floor. The sheer weight of the clumsy Microsoft machine caused tremors across the country...

which console is most prone to accidents?

Well I think the GameGube, cause with a tug on the controller, you could easily tip the GC over. Its a cube, so it has no large foot print to place its weight on. PS2 is a rectangle; the weight is spread over a greater area. It could only be pulled over if you stand your PS2 vertical. As for the XBox, its size and weight simple prevents it from moving even an inch.

well i have my GC situated next to my TV on top of my chest of draws as it's easily accessable and less prone to accidents, as for my DC... well thats kinda on top of a smallish chest on top of my CDi and my VCR but it's still stable, as for my numerous other consoles there all on a plastic unit, but I generally find that if you put consoles on top of units then there usually safe and wont fall off providing there placed properly i.e not on the edge and looked after, besdies the floor is no real place for a console as it could be easilly stepped on and is a hazard, so my advice is to put it on top of something sturdy :) neways...

Or even on top...

*Glances sideways at his PS2*

Does make sense, unless you've got some shoddy little portable TV, but then it'd be a lot less likely to smash the system if it were to fall.

Why not get it replaced with the insurance that covers the house contents? Or better still, approach sony saying that the materials have broken down due to shoddy craftsmanship and you would like a replacment please? Explaining to them that you were playing Tekken Tag one day (or what ever game) and for no apparent reason, a crack just streaked up the centre of the machine (or where ever the cracks are on the PS2).

But before you do anything, make sure you get that photo up on the web. The world is waiting.
