Did you know that in America, they did a food safety test thing and slaughterhouses, and 78% of the meat tested had traves of poo in it? About 30% had Salmonella, and about 15% had e-coli.
Oh, and one burger has bits of a couple of hgundred cows in. And they feed dead cats anf dogs to cows - I you not.
The smell that you breathe in isn't actually the food, it's a manufactured scent made in a laboratory - the same way that perfumes and deodorants etc are made.
And as for the effect that the fast food industry is having on other industries, I could be here all day.
If I was you, I'd go and read the book. Very interesting, and very eye opening. Especially the bit where he describes his visit to a slaughterhouse...
> Not eaten any form of flesh since 1997....
I'm happy for you. Personally, I find it hard to eat anything that didn't have a parent. Nothing brings a smile to my face (well, except the obvious) more than seeing a nice rare steak sitting on my plate. And before you say that it's like eating flesh, I'd agree and say the best steaks do, and that only makes me happier.
About the fast food thing, I know lots of big chains employ rather questionable levels of cleanliness, morality, etc. I'm told (and believe) McDonalds is the best for hygeine, not that it really bothers me. I don't like the burgers at McDonalds, so I only use it for Drive-thru chips, milkshakes, ice cream. The chicken nuggets are the worst offenders, they are basically rendered abattoire floor-scrapings, minced with too many chemicals to list and colourings, the truth is they've probably never seen a chicken, and if it has, is just skin and bones.
I like BKs burgers, regardless of everything that's gone before.
As for KFC, my mate works there and says the hygeine is a joke, they all laugh about it with the hygeine manager of all things. That said, though it might be really unhealthy, at least it is discernable (hope that's spelt right) chicken pieces, with bones and everything, which is more than can be said for McDonalds.

My best attempt at 2-methylbutan-3-oic acid. Skeletal formula. Just for the hell of it. I could be wrong.
2-methylbutan-3-oic acid etc
They make them all at this massive place in America where they make perfumes etc as well

Why bother with the burger then? :)
Maybe they could just give us a flavoured, textured, scented, weetabix in a bap and be done with it.
And what are all the additives and flavourings made from?
I'm not denying it tasted good though... McDonalds did
KFC and Burger King were dreadful
Hmmm
