This isn't a bad thing, as good as Rare were they did not match Nintendo's ability to make Platformers.

You'd have to assume so... I mean they used the 'Rare' DK in numerous games from the various incarnations of Mario Kart to Smash Bros. to Mario Tennis... It's probably in the small print...
It seems that Rare did keep PD, Conker and Banjo.
I wonder if they'll let Nintendo keep the "Rare" version of DK?
Perhaps Nintendo will leave the 3D adventuring to Mario, and give the new Donkey Kong game some classic old-skool gameplay.
Basically make DKC in 3D.
It's be a nice change from your usual platformer but very difficult to make - people don't want games that are too linear but this game would rely on an A-B structure...
I'm sure that Nintendo can do it.
I've heard that Rare own the Donkey Kong who wears the tie (basically, the image Donkey Kong has had since his Snes game - the one that appeared in Mario Kart, Smash Brothers etc...).
Perhaps they'll use it as trading material to get Perfect Dark back from Nintendo.
DK GameCube should be good. Rare were admittedly a great company but lets face it, they're no Nintendo.
Mario ruled all.
