Any things you can recommend, I don't wish to be part of a band or anything, just the fact that guitars can be used to throw out your anger through music or let your brain be imaginative and creative through music.
I am a big fan of all types of Rock and Metal.
Please help :)
Really though, Basket case is a piece of cake. You have the 2 stringed bar chord, and that's it. You play the same chord on different parts of the fretboard and you can play the entire song. The great thing about learning greenday stuff is that they have the ability to play more complicated stuff, but they don't. Possibly because they want the kids to learn it. I've seen greenday live a few times now and they get kids out of the crowd and billy joe gives them his guitar and they play along on the stage.
Any other help. just ask.
Greenday album? Hmm intresting.
Dont bother with an acoustic. They are much harder to play (for a beginner)because of the neck width. go straight to a cheap electric.
Learn the 2 string bar chord and learn a greenday album. thats where i started. If you need any other help then let me know.
Slave.
No really, I'm 3ft tall, I have green skin and I wear my dressing gown playing air guitar to Queen all day.

A cheap accoustic is a good way of starting off because if you find it is too diff then you havn't splashed too much of your cash. Also as somebody else stated it will help to toughen up your fingers before moving to an electric with razor wire strings.
Believe me - your fingers will hurt if you go straight to a steel strung guitar and it does put some people off permanantley.
The other good thing about starting off with a cheap accoustic is that you can take it and play it anywhere you like.
I have both guitars and in the summer I love wandering up the garden and sitting outside practising - you can't do that with an electric if you want a reasonable amount of sound to come out.
I'm a bit strapped for cash - Is buying an Acoustic really that essential?
And I really am boring all your socks off here, aren't I. Oh well.....
