> Edgy, Shut up.
Wow, it's Ine-San, the Newbie with attitude...
Anyway, Edgy, you said in Wario Land on GB Mario was the bad guy...? You sure? I don't remember Mario being in the game, and I'm sure the final boss was Peach or some princess anyway (Wario was trying to kidnap her or steal her treasure or something?) and then she had a genie to protect her... I think... Or maybe I'm remembering some other game...
Anyway, all Mario games are not the same in gameplay OR in plot. And surely the plot doesn't matter that much anyway so long as the gameplay is good? I did a big topic on the evolution of the gameplay in Mario games a while back, so if you go back a few pages in the Ninty forum you may be able to find it...

I relise that each game is diffrent in its own right but the concept is the same: rescue the girl
And by the way daisy and peach are the same person. Peach was origionally called daisy but then she changed her image and name
> Are all newbies stupid?
no. and why do you say that
Donkey Kong (Arcade/NES/Game Boy/various old formats):
After excaping the evil Mario, whom trapped him inside a cage to display to the world, Donkey Kong kidnaps Mario's girlfriend, Pauline, and takes her to the top of a tall building. Mario's goal is to rescue Pauline.
Mario Bros (Arcade/NES/Atari/PC):
I'm not sure what the storyline is involving Super Mario and his twin Luigi, but what I do know is (from playing) you have to defeat as many Koopas and other creatures as you can. They come out of the two pipes at the top and you gotta bash them from below.
Super Mario Bros (NES/SNES - Super Mario Allstars/Game Boy Color):
Mario's new girlfriend, Princess Toadstool (later renamed Peach to match the Japanese name) has been kidnapped by the evil King Koopa (said to originally be called Gordon, later given the name Bowser) and taken away to his castle. It's up to the Mario Brothers to rescue her. The Lost Levels is an add-on for the game with harder play and the choice of both Mario and Luigi for single play.
Super Mario Land (Game Boy):
Mario's girlfriend Daisy (different character) has been captured by some evil alien thing. In a similar style to Super Mario Bros, it's up to Mario to save Daisy, although a Submarine and an aeroplane level adds a little variety to the game.
Super Mario Bros 2 (NES/SNES - Super Mario Allstars/Game Boy Advance - Super Mario Advance):
Mario, Luigi, Toad and Princess Peach Toadstool (all playable) happen to be in a strange land that's become full of evil - lead by an evil frog. Controlling all four of them you have to travel through many levels, defeating them in an unusual way (for a Mario game). Eventually, you find out it's just a dream.
Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins (Game Boy):
Mario's evil cousin/brother, Wario, has taken over Mario's castle (the one he knicked off bowser) and made it his own, locking Mario out. The only way for Mario to get his castle back is to find the six magical golden coins and to face Wario in a showdown.
Super Mario Bros 3 (NES/SNES - Super Mario Allstars):
Once again, peach has been kidnapped, but not only that, all her Uncles, the kings of many worlds, have been turned into animals! Mario has to defeat each of Bowser's cousins to get the magic wands back to turn the kings back to their original selves.
Super Mario Land 3: Wario Land (Game Boy):
In this game, Mario is the bad guy, and Wario wants to get himself a castle. Not quite sure why, but he does. One of the best ever Nintendo games I've played - but that's all down to opinion.
Super Mario World (SNES/Game Boy Advance - Super Mario Advance 2):
Once again Bowser has captured Princess Peach Toadstool. You know the rest.
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (SNES):
Baby Bowser with the aid of Kamek the Magikoopa has captured Baby Luigi. Baby Mario, Luigi's twin (as the game indicates), with the aid of Yoshi (in the plural) has to save his brother so that they can both be united with their parents.
Super Mario 64 (N64):
Peach has supposedly baked Mario a cake (yeah right) and on arrival at the Mushroom Kingdom's Disney-like castle, he finds out that Bowser is back and has captured her.
Super Mario Sunshine (GameCube):
Mario, on his holidays, is framed for vandalising the island he's arrived at. So he has to clean it up. (don't know any more yet as I don't have the game).
See, they're not all the same...
And if it ain't broke don't fix it!
