When I was 11

Big proper one in town theatre

Why? I can't remember I think my gran drugged me and made me auition

They made me wear pancake and dance on stage... and tried to make me wear tights I said no and won.

I just remembered... it doesn't suit my personality at all

Why was I in a pantomine?

I can't tell you

Strange that

One of the songs was Oompa Loompa and I wore fluescent stuff

Also the best thing I did at Primary was be the dude in a Synagogue (sp) who shouts out the commands... I did it all in a weird language and wore my granpa's bunnet

Ah I was great

I just remember everybody staring at me for half a minute wondering what the hell was going on

I just remembered I was in this year's school play, as an extra. I'd never bothered signing up for them in the past, and my drama teacher really didn't like me, since I never worked in lessons etc, so when I asked to be in this one, he only gave me a bit part

I was some bloke who got shot at the beginning, then as someone else in the crowd, singing (it was sort of a musical)

I went to the first few rehearsals when I was needed, and rehearsed the part where I got shot, but never showed up for the other rehearsals, since I never knew about them. The teacher would post the list of rehearsals outside his room every Tuesday, and I was never in Tuesday since I had no lessons, and I sure as heck wasn't going to go in just to check to see if I was in that night or not.

Anyway, about the same time I stopped going to 6th form for two bloody weeks, simply because I couldn't be bothered to get out of bed in the morning. Yep, I'd wake up at about 12, and instead of rushing in and explaining why I'd been late, I'd simply stay in bed. Stupid me. Anyway, when I eventually went back in, I'd been removed from the play, and the tickets had been sold out so I didn't even get to see it. Curses

Heh, in my last year at primary school, I was Pilate (evil judge man)

Had to sing a song at a worryingly fast speed.

I hate plays. Or drama.

In New Zealand in Intermediate School (years 7 and 8) the school play was Alice through the Looking Glass. Anyway, one afternoon there were auditions, which were more like drama classes and were a great excuse to miss lessons. Anyway, I went for them and was recalled at a later date.

~side note~ on the day when I was recalled, our proper teacher was off sick, so we had a relief teacher. Anyway, we and my best mate swapped names for a day (we did that kind of thing:D) and when I was called, I had to explain our shenanigan first. Embarrasing, I know.

And I got the part of Tweedledum. I didn't even want to be in the play. I predicted that if I was, I'd get exactly that part, and I did. I went through much gruelling work for that play, and you know what? I rocked! I ripped my costume on the first night playing twister in the waiting area, it was raining so my socks got soaked and I left footprints on the stage, and I managed to skip the entire scene where I had to dance.

Long live snideyism!

In school, when I was about 7, I played some guy, I think his name was Geordie or summat. The song went

"Old Geordie's lost his penker
Old Geordie's lost his penker
Something something something
And I've forgotten this bit too"

I had to act like I'd lost my penker... and no, that's NOT what you think it is. Apparantly, penker is another word for marble (as in those things you play games with) My mum was in the audience, and she cried... Crazy

I also played one of the founders of CO-OP when I was 8 or 9 in a musical. Yes, I could sing back then, before *ahem* certain changes. The play was about people getting ripped off back in the Victorian days or something, so they made their own shop, and today it's known as CO-OP (don't ask me who came up with the idea to turn THAT story into a musical)

Then when I was 10, I played a pianist called Sam for this Jukebox thingy. Basically, no acting, we just pretended to play these old songs, stuff like Elvis. My piano was supposed to collapse, as I was playing it too hard (and too well, because I rule) so we had a flat piece of wood with two legs on hinges, with keys painted on. If I kicked it, it collapsed. Of course, being kids, we kept playing with it and I said "If we collapse it one more time, it'll break." Came to the performance, and low and behold, when I kicked it, it collapsed and one of the legs broke off. Luckily, for whatever reason, someone had placed a xlophone (however you spell it) on the stage, so I just picked that up and played that through the rest of the songs. Yeah, I'm good at improv, heh

I was always the narrator at school plays. The most acting I got was walking over to a girl I fancied and pointing in no general direction. I think it was the Minotaur story and I was pointing at the ship with the wrong sail up or something.
