I'm a litle surprised it actually has to re-load when you screw up, as I'd have thought it could just reset the variables and go again.
Having said that, it can become a frustrating game, and I personally find the load time handy for composing and calming myself before starting a stunt sequence for the seventeenth time! :-)
I was generally enquiring becasue i was interested in buying stuntman.

Exactly my point. However, I really felt that the loading times in 'Stuntman' really spoilt the game for me. It made failing a lot more frustrating, and if you're a bit of a perfectionist like myself, a whole ten seconds each time is too long a wait for one little mistake.
It would have been great on the GameCube, with much improved loading times and possibly graphics, though that's not really an issue as they're good anyway.
also i know there are jaggies in most games...but these ones are very noticeable (like in vf4 for ps2...that was jaggie hell)

I've honestly yet to see a game without jaggies. I see them on PS2, Gamecube and Xbox - even Halo. I can even see them on my PC games at 1024x768. They're less evident in some games than others, but they're always there if you look for them.
To be honest, when I'm playing a game, I never notice jaggies - they're very noticable in screenshots, but when the game is moving, they're not something that bothers me.

True. But if a game is good enough, loading times shouldn't matter anyway. I've just completed Mafia on the PC - which supposedly has the fastest loading times of all platforms - and that had pretty hefty loading times between missions. Didn't spoil my enjoyment at all though.
But getting back to Resident Evil - I'm sure they could have eliminated loading times completely - but the opening door sequences are part of RE's suspense, and for me, they add to the creepiness of the game.

The maggot infested zombies were just a bonus then? A short loading time shouldn't ruin a game, it's a long one that does, and GC almost eliminates loading times.
p.s Play it at midnight in pitch black with the door locked on your own.....it'll scare you silly.
