No hang on! My OLD connection was a cable one, my new ones a dial-up!

NTL wont connect you to their main cable pipeline if you don't subscribe to their basic TV package at least...when did I refer to that in my original message anyway?

you don't have to have cable, to have a cable modem, as long as you have a cable connection in your street you can have it.

I'll be getting ADSL soon (hopefully)
