Heh...I'm going out at midday, drowning Iguana. Until then I'm sitting here swearing at win2000 until it becomes unbroken. There are probably better ways to do it, but shouting at it and kicking it tends to work..

Good to see the usual suspects are around again this morning.....

If you only want a linux install to run as a server, I'd recommend OpenBSD (most secure o/s around, 4 years without a hole) or debian (doesn't come with all the extras and user friendly redhat stuff, but the base kernel is only 30mb)

Oh, and I am on MSN, but only on my old account ([email protected]), my new one still wont work.

Web server lets people connect to the machine to view web pages stored on it (usually via port 80), dedicated games servers run a lite version of the game with no graphics in the background, usually in a dos prompt. Each games tends to have a unique port, so you can run multiple ones off the same PC.

As of last night, oV's dedicated 100mbit UT server is running. Woo =)

Once I've got these other machines working, I'll run OpenBSD on a gateway box, might stick some servers on that...
