Nice PC, I am getting a good computer soon! P4, 1.7ghz cant remember how much RAM and that but my DAD said it wont need an upgrade for a while! I only listened to the P4 1.7ghz part anywhoo!

If budget isn't an issue, no contest - get the P4. Duron's much cheaper, especially with all the specific components that the P4 needs (RDRAM and the like, new mobo). But if your parents are paying, go for it..
Hey... I'm getting a new PC after my GCSE results... which should I get, a Pentium 4 or a Duron? Don't bother about costs, my parents are coughing up for it.
