Anyway, shift+3 gives me a #. Then that command gives me a \. And then when I go to where that should be, I get /. Exactly the same. That's what I mean by tracing it back.

I still doubt that anybody understands!

No I just needed it because I do not have one on my keyboard. I have traced it all the way back to where it should be but it isn't on there anywhere.
