I didnt let him down, I told him he needed a life besides chatting to me. I didnt change, I dealt with the problem at hand in seemingly the only way that was left to.

I don't understand how you could be so harsh someone who thought the world of you and probably still does.
I'm sure he told you how difficult he find trusting people and trusted you 100% until you changed, thats the reason he spent so much time with you and made you his priority, he never expected you to let him down so badly.

Photos are every picture in your mind, they dont have to be physical, all that matters is that you can see them.

Photos are every picture in your mind, they dont have to be physical, all that matters is that you can see them.
