Serves you right! Leaving Puddin' all to herself without giving her some action! Ex-cops these days...

You kept me up last night!

Trying to sleep and all I could hear was, 'tap-tap-tap', as you talked to my lass on MSN. Then because I didn't know the cam was on I stood up giving you a shot of my old sleeping-in pants...and maybe more!

It's not for my career so I guess it makes it a hobby. It's not something I envisage using much. However I will use it to build a working database for my Company at the end of the degree when you have to submit an individual project.

Ah. I could make one in BASIC but it wouldn't be very secure :D

I get most of that. Is your course some necessary career progression thing, or just something you wanted to do as a hobby?

I'm on advanced database management. The first two years were a doddle. This would have been easier if I'd done some work earlier, even though my mate who studies like crazy really struggled with it.

Mainly:

1st part. They gave us several tables and some info to input into the tables. The tables were complete with all constraints. We had to decide what to index, other than primary key indexes, to force the database to perform fast and efficiently. Justify use of indexes, denormalisation and use explain plan to back up your decision on the indexing.

2nd part. Security. As the DBA set up grants (easy) to users allowing them to either delete, select, insert, update or any combination of these 4. There was also the consideration of the audit trail and database triggers.

Output all SQL code generated.

It amazing what goes on in the background that you know nothing about.

Ineedsleep, what did you have to do exactly? Not asking for a massive report, but what did they expect you to make and learn at the end of it?
