If I were to do uni over again, I would probably have started to look at graduate recruitment sites and programmes well before my final year. Having a back up plan would have helped too.

Ah the joys of going into the "crunch time" year of GCSEs with very little work done in anything except select subjects

"Yeah, would I be allowed to bring in spiders to expose to radiation and entice them to bite me?"
"No, Security to interview room 2"

I'm worried about that. There's no guarantee that after graduating I won't fall into the same thing... and while I guess most of my day now is spent typing on a keyboard, it's actually fun and stuff. I guess I don't want the "dull, but I least I have a job" mantra to stick, only to find I still have the same job with a pay rise when retirement is looming.

I don't think anyone would let me near a particle accelerator. My day would probably start with something like "Ouch I've just been bitten by a radioactive ______________ "

I've not been upto much...
After graduating I found it difficult to get a job. I didn't get anyhing until the following February - a temp job which I did for a year. Then they made me permanent and I'm still there.
Tap tap tapping away at a computer.

I should be applauded for remembering that, I was told that years ago (1 or 2). So what are you doing now? Working on some sub sonic super particle collision detector, or being used by stiff manager types who think they're better than you?
