I did some research when I was considering buying one and it's a very reliable and nicely put together console, for a good price too. You might want to take a look at the GameCube though, if you're thinking of a second console. Of course, it's all up to you, but you want to keep your options open. Perhaps you could post a similar topic in the Nintendo forum? Then you'd get info on both consoles and could make an informed decision about which one is right for you.

Don't open the disk drive anywhere near small children either.

Well the first thing that happened when i put a game in was that it shot back out and it cut me on the throat and nealry killed me. Oh yeh and some sparks fly out the back every so often. But apart from that i cant think of anything that is wrong or dangerous to your health. OH if you buy one i would buy a radiation suit as i have heard it can release small amounts of it. But only a few people have actually died because of it.

Hey, if you can't take it when the likes of Res goes into your forum and does this, don't have the cheek to stamp your feet over it and then carry on doing it in here.

Same here, no complaints either. Apparently that disk scratching was a very minor thing and didn't even affect the games. It was a case of a small amount of Japanese players noticing some scratches on the edges of the disk and from there some media storm kicked up over it.

Anyway, as Mantis said, its already been sorted out. I've had no problems with my X-Box and I tend to play it for long periods pretty often. :-)
